The team at East Passage Boatwrights is excited to announce that Hull #1 of the East Passage 24 made her debut at the 2021 Newport International Boat Show earlier this fall.

After turning heads at the boat show, including the editor of Soundings Magazine who put her on the cover of the December ’21 issue, the classically inspired and traditionally built all wooden hull was put to the test on Narragansett Bay for her sea trials.  Designed by Walt Ansel, who brought over three decades of experience as a shipwright at Mystic Seaport Museum, and powered by a Yanmar 150HP turbo diesel, Hull #1 exceeded everyone’s expectations effortlessly cruising at 15kts. And topping out at 24kts.

Hull #1 is available for sale and will be back on the water in the spring of 2022.  If you are interested in a sea trial, contact Carter Richardson at carter@latitudeyacht.com.

The summer season may be coming to a close but Latitude Yacht Brokerage is still full steam ahead and pleased to announce the addition of Willie Lynch as their newest Yacht Broker.

Willie is originally from Dublin, Ireland and grew up sailing and racing on the Irish Sea. His racing days graduated into boat management, instruction, and maintenance that resulted in jobs around the world including Greece, Spain, and Australia before moving to Chicago in the early 2000s. After a few years with a sailing and charter business in Chicago, Willie began working with a private owner who was passionate about both sailboat and powerboat restorations and together they refit two classic Huckins. Since that time, he has been involved with over 10 refits for private owners and is one of the most knowledgeable Huckins boaters around.

Willie has sailed tens of thousands of miles between racing, deliveries, and cruising, in every role imaginable. He hopes that his broad boating background will enable him to understand what any client is looking for and provide first-hand experience and advice on all aspects of boat ownership and management.
